ST. PATRICK'S DAY RACE - Pictures

Some pictures from the event taken by Peter Purfield

A1 and A2 Race - Distance 67kms
Two races today, first off are the A2 group

40 miles race ahead, the A1 group sets off 5 minutes behind.

The front group at 25km

The A1 scratch group

At 35km - A breakaway is clear of the A2 group

The rest of the A2 group

The A1 group is starting to thin out

With 13km to go - one rider goes ahead of the leading breakaway

The rest of the A2 group

The A1 group

With 7 km to go - the lone rider is still clear and break is down to 5 riders who are all working together to bring him back

3km to go

With under 1km to go the leader is reeled in

50M to go

A close finish on the line

The next group finishing


A3 and A4 Race - Distance 67kms
The A4's get a similar 5 minute head start in the second race

The A3 group - They have the same 67km race circuit

At 25km - A few riders off the front of the A3 group

The rest of the A3's

The A4 scratch group

At 35km - The leaders

The A3 group chasing

25M to go - The the A3 and A4 groups have joined up and its going to be a bunch finish

Not the finish the guy with his hands up expected, he was piped on the line (see insert)
