IrishCycling.Com started up in January 2000, it came about as a result of the success of a cycling site I set-up in 1998 & 1999 called Peter Purfield's Irish Cycling pages which included the popular Photo Gallery of both Road Racing and MTB. This site started as a revamped version of the old site, plus adding a news section and other interesting features as time went on.
I would like to thank all the visitors who were kind to leave generous comments in our original guestbook, it was great encouragement for both myself and the others who contribute to the site. It also proves there is a need for a cycling site like this in Ireland. Also I would like to acknowledge the contributions I have received from many good people around Ireland and overseas, I'm grateful to them for their input which complements the variety of the site.
This website is continually under development, upgrades and new features are added as needed. Unfortunately I'm not in a position to cater for all aspects of cycling, some areas I will not get to as much as others. But I do try.
I would also like to clarify that this site has no connection or association with Cycling Ireland the national body for the sport in Ireland. IrishCycling.com is an independently run site and is maintained by myself on a voluntary basis, when I get the time.
The website is now here many years, at this stage it may have images, links and attachments not working, these things happen during the many web server upgrades we have to do as time goes by. My apologies to those affected. Finally, if a picture you are looking for is not on this website, please do not contact me, as a refusal or no reply - sometimes offends.
