In a dramatic race Tom Pidcock pulled off an incredible win in Paris today, while leading the race, he punctured at the half-way point and lost around 40 seconds, he ended up back in 7th place. He fought his way back to the front of the race and in an exhilarating last lap, where he changed the lead several times with Victor Koretzky (a top French rider). 500 meters to go Koretzky was leading, then at a couple of hundred meters from the finish, Koretzky went one way around a tree, Pidcock attacked on the inside line and held it to the finish.

Four laps earlier, it looked like Pidcock was out of the medals, to make it back to the front of the race after his misfortune was incredible and he truly deserved to win.

Sadly the crowd at the finish area started booing Pidcock as he crossed the finish line to retain the Olympic title he won in Japan a few years ago.
