With the racing season now finished the Irish mountainbikers have been holding their own in the UCI World rankings. Surprisingly, Jenny McCauley from Bray who is a relative newcomer returning to the sport is currently ranked in 21st place in the elite women�s cross country ranking. This is the highest position ever achieved by an Irish mountain bike rider.
The Downhill riders are well represented in the rankings, they have a bright future ahead of them with Ben Reid and Jamie Popham both 19 years of age in the top 100 and many more riders under 20 years coming up behind them.
