Robin Seymour (Team WORC) was the clear winner of the opening round of the Cycling Ireland cross-country National Points Series in Castlewellan, Co. Down yesterday.
The multiple Irish champion reached the line 2 minutes and 48 seconds clear of visiting UK rider Adrian Lansley (Pedalon) and a further 2 minutes and 7 seconds ahead of XMTB�s Glen Kinning. Geoffrey Beethan (Easter Region Velo) and Don Travers (Banbridge CC) were next home.
Seymour picked up a total of 20 world ranking points for his win in the E2 event.
Meanwhile his team-mate Tarja Owens finished over four minutes clear of Beth McCluskey (unattached) and a lap ahead of Ciara McManus (XMTB) in winning the women�s event.
The first round of CI�s Downhill NPS will take place at Ballycarton next Sunday.
