The Stephen Roche supported Tour De Cure Charity Cycling Sportif which took place in Midleton, Co-Cork last Sunday May 13th. There were 1,300 cyclists taking part in 4 different routes from a family run of 15km, to a 50km, 100km and 165km circuit. Cope Foundation, Mercy Hospital Cancer Foundation and Midletons Emergency First Responders were the charities/people that will benefit from the proceeds and Stephen Roche himself is the ambassador and supporter of the event.

The event raised over 30,000euro to make a difference whilst also promoting cycling amongst all ages in 1 day. 2012 was its 4th year of running. It is one of the largest cycles of its kind in Ireland right now.

It is Stephen Roche's 25th anniversary of winning the Tour of Italy, Tour of France and World Championships in the same year.
