Lucan BMX Club host the opening round on April 16th, with entries now open for this round here.
Focus switches to Lisburn BMX Club as they host Round Two on May 21st. The third round is hosted by Cork BMX Club on July 1st.
Round Three takes on an added importance as it takes place the day before the National Championships in Co. Cork, with the National Series round forming a dress rehearsal for the battle for the Irish national champion's jersey.
The closing rounds of the 2023 National Series follow in August and September as Lucan once again play host in Round Four on August 27th. Ratoath BMX Club will host the final round on September 24th.
Riders and supporters can keep up to date with all the live timing and results with Sqorz.
Sqorz have added an all-new functionality just in time for the National Series that allows you to search for riders and follow them across multiple events. Find out more here.
A 'Rider Of The Day' Award will also be available on each round to an individual rider who has put 100 percent into their training and racing but may not make a podium finish. This will be decided by the round's chief commissaire.
Cycling Ireland BMX Commission Race Director, Natalie Lawlor, said:
"16th April will see the first round of the 2023 BMX National Series take place in Lucan BMX Club in County Dublin and we are all super excited for a number of reasons. The National series will see riders and their families come together from clubs around the country to support and watch their riders battle it out. We have 13 different race groups and each rider will race for points at each round in the hope that they win the overall title in their respective race group."
"This year, we have done things a little differently, we will have five rounds in the National Series and all points count from each round. We will also have over 50 riders participating in the 2023 BMX World Championships in Glasgow in August so there's a lot of preparation work to be done but exciting times ahead. We are very excited to have all clubs together again and catch up with everyone. The BMX Commission wishes the very best of luck to every rider and encourages all riders to enjoy the race season and have fun while competing."
