The team to represent Ireland at the UCI Road World Championships in Zurich has been named.
24 Irish athletes will contest the 2024 UCI Road and Para-cycling World Championships in Zurich. The championships will run from Saturday 21st to Sunday 29th of September.
Ireland has a strong cohort of riders competing across various age categories.
Ben Healy will be hoping to continue his very strong year in these World Championships. He had an incredibly strong showing in the Tour de France, followed by narrowly missing out on an Olympic medal in the Road Race in Paris.
Megan Armitage heads to the championships following a strong performance in Paris when she made her Olympic debut in the Women’s Road Race. She put in an excellent performance at the Games where she was hampered by a crash, she’ll be looking leave her mark on the world stage at these championships.
In the Para-cycling Katie-George Dunlevy will be looking to add to her recent success. She claimed her third consecutive Women’s B Individual Time Trial Paralympic title at the 2024 Paris Paralympic Games. She will be looking to retain her World title with pilot Linda Kelly. Josephine Healion will be looking to build on what was an incredible Paralympic debut with a strong performance at the championships. Pilot Eve McCrystal has already dubbed Healion as a rising star within the sport.
