Well I thought about it and realised, when I raced in the 70's, there were very few people taking pictures at events, and to see a picture from local cycling events was very rare. Photography was a hobby of mine, so I started taking some snaps at events. Then in the early 80's, I was working for a television company and portable video recorders became available, this was a natural progression from a stills camera.
Now, with photographs, slides and video of cycling over almost 50 years gathering dust - I said I should put these online before I head to another world. For the last few years each winter I try, either post pictures on IrishCycling.com or try archive / scan what I have ready to post online. This is very time consuming and I work on it when I can.
So, over the winter months this year. I have been digging out old video tapes, converting them and uploading them to YouTube. This is an ongoing process it will take many months - so, please do not contact me looking for particular events - be patient, I'll do what I can.
It has not been plain sailing as, video recorders and cameras start breaking down after been lying idle for over 20 years.
