Aaron Buggle was strongest on Sunday in Thurles after a 50 minutes and 5 laps. With one lap to go a strong 6 man breakaway was going for the line, with Buggle the fastest in the gallop, beating Barry Meade for second and Liam Corcoran (Castlebar) finishing third.

Buggle was in comfortable control for the duration of the race, closely watched by race favourite Paudi O'Brien (Dan Morrisey Speedy Spokes), but with one lap to go a puncture dashed all O'Brien's chances for a prestigious win in Thurles. Liam Corcoran was a pleasant surprise and involved in every move of the 1.45km closed street circuit in Thurles, scooping up all the available primes along the way.

The Thurles criterium, promoted by Team DMG, was organized in conjunction with the Thurles Halloween Arts festival and the Thurles European Town of sport.
