Rhiannon Dolan and Aliyah Rafferty are both well used to representing Ireland on the international stage, with Dolan having been Ireland’s sole representative at the Junior Track World Championships in China in 2024, and Rafferty representing Ireland on the road on multiple occasions, including last year’s Rás na mBan and the UCI Road World Championships.
Maximilian Fitzgerald and Luca Holmes all make another appearance in green having recently competed at the Grenchen Track Cycling Challenge in Switzerland in December.
Relative newcomers to the Irish international set up will be Elliott McKeegan and George Sevastopulo. Both riders competed at U16 level in 2024 for Madigan CC and Sundrive respectively. Both McKeegan and Sevastopulo found success domestically on the road and track and will look to build on this as the head into the Junior ranks.
The Next Generation competition is one of the most prestigious track events for Junior riders globally, and will give the Irish representatives a chance to test themselves against some of the world’s best.
Racing gets underway on Friday morning, and continues through Saturday and Sunday.
