Ratoath BMX Club played host to Rounds 1 and 2 of the 2022 BMX National series on Saturday and Sunday 23/24 April, with over 130 riders taking part.

Clubs from around the country converged on the fantastic Ratoath track to kick of the 2022 season in style.

After an intense weekend of racing, it wasn’t just the strong wind blowing spectators away! The thirteen different categories showcased a wide variety of competition, from Under Six right up to the Masters 30+ groups.

Each category worked their way through the qualifying ‘Moto’ races, before moving on to the semi-finals and finals.

The overall winners in Rounds 1 and 2 were the same on both days – except for the Male 15-29 group, where Lennon Neville took the honours in Round 1 and Josh Whitely Halvey in Round 2, and in the Super Class, where Tommy Magnenat won in Round 1 and Matthew Campbell took first in Round 2.

(Rounds 3 and 4 will take place in Lisburn, Co. Antrim on the weekend of the 28th and 29th May)

The racing was extremely close all weekend, with mere seconds separating the top riders in many races – the full results can be viewed here:
